Fitzrovia Area Guide
The area between Oxford Street and Fitzroy Square became commonly known as Fitzrovia, around the early 1930’s. This neighbourhood has a mixture of local residents, medical institutions, university’s and an abundance of hospitality spots from hotels to restaurants. The lofty BT Tower is a sure sign that you’re in Fitzrovia, as it dominates the skyline and is a perfect meeting point for those new to the area.
Fitzroy Tavern is a public house steeped in history and the perfect spot for a refreshing beverage. For the more refined, afternoon tea at The Charlotte Street Hotel is not to be missed with finger sandwiches and homemade scones with jam and cream. Inspired by the Aegean Islands, Meraki is a contemporary Greek restaurant serving the finest dishes with the freshest ingredients.
This is a well-connected area with several tube stations close by, numerous bus routes and London Euston & Marylebone a short walk away.
